Here is a update on the Mitchell Cross Wind with red handle knob.

I have located a new one with serial number A07341.

The reel is fitted with a original CW gearing.

All reel found till today are from the same serie, all starting with A, the numbers are only 214 reels apart so it might be more reels made with this CW gearing .

Time will tell us that.

I want to make the statement that all reels with a other serial number and not close to this one's are all total fake reels ,  or upgraded reels with replacement gearing.

The reel I found works like a new one, although it is so many years old and used for many years.
