Collecting in not only buy a reel, it is fun to restore a reel and box if possible.

I was able to buy a rare first edition  Mitchell 308 in the first edition box matching number on the set.

I knew the box top was a mess, but I had a old boxtop already from the same era, and that was a good donor for this one.

When I had recieved the reel and box I have started the project, I steamed  of  all the paper and put everything in a dryer.

Alle the paper that was damaged was taken off and new original paper from the other box was replaced on this box.

I takes a lot of time I think I spent 5 hours on this project, not counting the hours the paper was drying, and moved on step by step.

Please understand when you do it wrong you have a problem and you can stop with the project.

Step by step is everything brought back in shape and the paper glued on.

Than iron the paper gently, and here is the result.

A fantastic box, with the original reel, matching numbers still on the bottom part of the box.
