A original Mitchell Cross Wind , full bail model.

Serial number 384883 stamped on the housing.

The reel has the first version full bail, first version trip lever, smooth anti revere pawl.

Springloaded handle.

"Mitchell " engraved only, no model number.

Why is this reel so rare.???

I found the reel on a fleamarket, never opened, and in fairly good condition.

When I cleaned the reel I saw a perfect "maingear"  the special Mitchell CW gearing, first edition.

This is a test run,  gear or was for sale as a replacement gear when you wanted your reel to spool CW.

Look at the picture to study the gear, it is rare.

The reel is cleaned and has all the original parts, so a nice addition to any Mitchell collection.

Price is E 150,00 plus shipment and that is cheap because not many of this reels around.
