Home Made Reel

Here is a article about a special reel, although it is not a Mitchell it is a nice one.

The reel was found in the UK some years ago on a auction, and what makes it so special it is home made.

The maker of this reel has engraved his name on the reel, "T.B. Rose"  and the reel is dated 1951.

I bought the reel in the original case also home made with spare spools , lines, tools, flies, and spare parts.

All the items are hand made the lures are fantastic, also the flies and the wooden box is a masterpiece by itself.

The box is reinforced with special, brass bands, hand made hinges, and the best thing I found in the box was a old picture,

dated 1951 with 5 nice fish caught with this reel and lures by the maker.

Now maybe you think it is simple to make such a reel, you will find out it is not.

Because it is so hard to find out the way to spool the line on the spools properly, it is hard to make it right and this reel does the job so perfect it is just stunning.

The drag is also fantastic, you can fish with very thin lines with this reel.

If you are a real reel collector, your hart will beat harder when you see the pictures.

Please enjoy collecting......................
