SORRY SOLD ALREADY
Mitchell Garcia 408 DL.
This reel has been in my collection for a long time.
I bought it in France on a tackle fair.
The reel has no serial number, could be special made for somebody.
The reel is still very nice and works OK.
The name plate is engraved: “Chris Hoviele”
Rare and collectable reel.
€ 400 plus postage
I have bought a nice Mitchell 300 with a rare decal sticker.
This reel came from Sweden, so help from Swedish collectors is most welcome.
Please look at the sticker and maybe you can tell me what distributor used this in Sweden.
I looked in all my tackle books but can not find any info on connections between Mitchel and Swedish retailers.
Let’s solve this mistery…………
Here some pictures: the decal is a small sticker like Albatros used on the early reels, same material, very easy to damage, but this one is still intact.
Looks like JB or just a B.
email me if you might have any info.
Here a reel that is hard to find.
The Mitchell 400 special in the original box.
The reel has a warranty paper dated: 01/08/1965
Sold in the tackle shop Ronald Fenger in Rotterdam in the Netherlands.
Ronald Fenger was a well known Tournament Caster in the 1960’s
The reel is mint I think never used and the box can be rated as super rare, in the box the spare spool unused.
First edition Mitchell 400, round screw end on the handle
The box top was in bad shape when I bought it, taped and torn but my friend Emile did this job again, to restore it to almost new condition.
THANKS EMILE !!!!!!!!!!!!
Here is a nice item for my collection.
It is a Mitchell ALBATROS cigarette lighter.
Never seen one before, so might be a rare one, I think only used for promotion.
The lighter shows a Mitchell 300 with spring loaded handle for the 50’s.
The Albatros and Mitchell Logo are engraved as on the Mitchekl reels.
I will clean it and try to start it up again.
enjoy the pictures.

Here a picture of a old skool set-up.
Mitchell 410 special on a Gerry Savage rod.
Jan came to me a few weeks ago, and asked me to help him to bring this Mitchell 410 to live again.
Now he is fishing this reel again, and the result is shown here.
Good to see the old reels in full swing again.
Next picture the rods and reels on a fishing trip.
That is why I love old reels.
